Communications

Keeping GAE members informed is an important part of what we do here at GAE. That’s where our Communications team comes into play.

It’s their job to devise tools that keep you informed, interested, and involved in your organization. This website, for example, allows us to build special and personal relationships with each GAE member. In fact, when you log in as a member, your first stop will be your own private web page. From there, you can read GAE news alerts, legislative updates, pointers from GAE’s Professional Development team, as well as our Legal team’s Q&As—and that’s just for starters. For members, all of that is just a few clicks away.

Offline, we offer each member a yearly subscription to our award-winning quarterly magazine, KNOW. It’s our official publication and where you can turn to read about education in the state of Georgia, see what fellow public educators are accomplishing, and find useful bits of info—from scholarships to upcoming events. NEA also publishes NEA Today on a monthly basis for all members.

Externally, GAE also works hard to educate the public on the importance of public education employees. Almost daily, GAE leaders are contacted by members of the media for association positions on educational issues. GAE is proud of its working relationship with the media on a statewide basis and nationally.

After all, knowledge is power.
