ATLANTA -- "In response to the growing concern over the spread of the Coronavirus, we are closing our headquarters offices in Tucker until further notice," said Charlotte Booker, president of the Georgia Association of Educators (GAE). "After monitoring the escalating situation, and following the lead of Gov. Kemp, we felt it in the best interest of our staff to ask them to telework from their homes."
Booker says that members who still need to contact staff for any issues will be able to reach them via GAE's staff page on its website: https://gae.org/about-gae/contacts/gae-staff-2/.
"We will reevaluate the situation after next week to determine whether we will keep our offices closed," said Booker.
She asks that members please follow the CDC's recommendations during this time, and please be safe. Also, NEA (National Education Association) has also developed a resource page for members: http://neatoday.org/2020/01/06/schools-and-coronavirus/.
