How can anyone ask teachers to take a cut in pay or furlough days when students have missed 2 months or more this spring. Yes, I understand online classes...but what those students who may have gotten behind ( I'm sure there are many) time will have to be spent catching up. Education and Educators are two places where spending should NOT be cut. How about politician's pay be cut.... retirement benefits.. cut.....limited terms without lifetime benefits. WHAT?????No servant is better than his master and NO Master is better than his servant

They should advocate for changing Georgia unemployment rules to allow those with furloughs and reduced hours to qualify for partial UI (after the CARES Act extension expires).

It is still a reduction of pay and lower paychecks with furlough days. And when teachers stand up and refuse to do ANY work on these furlough days when asked to, and we know they will be asked, I expect lawmakers to stand with teachers in the refusal.

Not EVERY department needs to be cut. Education is probably the last dept. to cut if people want us to go back to work without a vaccination available. How badly do they want us to go back so they can have a better life with their kids at school?

Several of us have spoken up and will continue to do so. We need to keep our foot on the gas. Everyone can by looking up your representative and keep our Voice going. As the song says, "Don't back down...stand your ground. "
