National Teacher Day and Appreciation Week

NEA celebrates National Teacher Day each year on Tuesday of the first full week of May. The day celebrates the outstanding work and lifelong dedication of teachers nationwide.

During National Teacher Day and Appreciation Week, around the country thousands of communities are taking time out to honor local educators and acknowledge the crucial role our nation’s teachers play in making sure every student receives a quality education.

This year, we’re joining together to listen to and stand with teachers and uniting to take action and demand our leaders provide the resources and respect educators deserve. Because every student - no matter the color of their skin or the ZIP code they live in - deserves educators who are caring, committed, and have the resources they need to help every student succeed.

We Are All in This Together.

Join us not only this week, but throughout the year, in saying ‘thank you’ to our nation’s educators. For just $25 a year, you can become a part of our work to improve the quality of our public schools, keep caring educators in our classrooms, increase student achievement, and make sure our schools are safer, better places to learn.
