What is an Aspiring Educator?

Any college student pursuing a career in education, that doesn't already fit into one of our other membership categories, is an Aspiring Educator. They are the future of our profession, and it is vital that we not only support them on their journey, but also uplift their voices in decision-making and empower them throughout their journey.

How do we support you?

As an Aspiring Educator, we provide you with professional development, scholarships, conferences and networking opportunities, as well as membership in the Georgia Association of Educators and National Education Association. This provides you with the benefit of Liability Insurance for your practicum and observations for free!

How do we empower you?

As a GAE Aspiring Educator, you are a part of a local, state, and national association that advocates for public education! GAE/NEA is the largest democratic body that regularly organizes and represents public educators across the state and country, and we want and need your voice! As GAE advocates for Public Educators across the state of Georgia, ensuring we have the voice of future educators in the state is vital. We have local chapters at each of the colleges and school districts.  In addition, AE members can run for state and national positions in order to advocate for and impact the profession.
