Juneteenth Holiday

Juneteenth, also known as Juneteenth Independence Day or Freedom Day, commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. It specifically marks the day, June 19, 1865, when enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, finally learned of their freedom, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. It's a celebration of freedom, resilience, and the ongoing journey towards racial equality. GAE offices are closed in observance.
