Ways to vote

• Be registered
  • To participate in the 2026 General Election on November 3, make sure your voter registration is current by checking your registration information at mvp.sos.ga.gov.
    • If you have moved from one county to another, you must register in your new county to be eligible to vote.
    • If you’ve moved within your county or changed your name recently, update your information before Election Day to help ensure a smoother voting experience.
    • IMPORTANT DATES
      • Last day to register to vote: October 5th.
      • October 5 at 11:59 p.m. is the deadline to register to vote online or by fax or email for the General Election. 
      • October 5 Deadline to register to vote by mail for General Election (must be postmarked by this date).
• Absentee voting: If you prefer not to vote in person, you can request an absentee ballot.
  • Your application must be received by your county office by October 23, 2026, for the General Election.
• Early, in-person voting begins October 13 until October 30; closed on Sunday.
  • Early voting centers are open 7:00 a.m.- 7:00 p.m.
    • When going to an early voting center in your county, be sure to present your Photo ID. Learn about early voting here.
• Voting in person on Election Day. The election will be on the first Tuesday of the month. Polls open from 7am until 7pm. Note if you are in line by 7 o'clock, you have the right to vote. Find your polling place!

Photo ID - When voting in person, you will be asked to show one of the following Photo IDs at your polling place:

• Any valid state or federal government-issued photo ID, including a free ID card issued by your county registrar's office or the Georgia Department of Driver Services. 
• A Georgia driver's license, even if expired
• Student ID from a Georgia public College or University
• Valid employee photo ID from any branch, department, agency, or entity of the U.S. Government, Georgia, or any county, municipality, board, authority or other entity of this state 
• Valid U.S. passport ID 
• Valid U.S. military photo ID containing a photograph of the voter
• Valid tribal photo ID containing a photograph of the voter
