Retired and Pre-Retired Membership

Retired members are those who have retired from a job in a public school system but still want to advocate for the profession, schools, and themselves.

Whether retirement is just around the corner or you have already begun this new chapter, your experience, voice, and commitment to public education still matter. As a member of GAE-Retired and NEA-Retired—the only retired organizations officially connected to the Georgia Association of Educators and the National Education Association—you remain part of a powerful community of educators and education support professionals.

GAE-Retired and NEA-Retired help you stay informed, connected, and involved while also providing valuable member benefits. Whether you worked in the classroom, behind the scenes, or in support services, your contributions continue to make a difference.

Today’s retirees face important challenges, including rising healthcare costs, threats to Social Security and Medicare, changing tax policies, and increasing everyday expenses. That’s why staying connected through a strong, member-driven organization is more important than ever. Together, we continue to advocate for retirees, public education, and the issues that impact our communities.

The National Education Association remains a strong voice for all education employees—active and retired alike. Through GAE-Retired and NEA-Retired, members can stay engaged in advocacy, legislative action, and public policy discussions that shape the future of education and retirement security. Your experience and leadership are invaluable. Retired educators and support professionals play a critical role in protecting programs like Social Security and Medicare, supporting quality public education, and mentoring the next generation of education advocates.

Membership in GAE-Retired and NEA-Retired keeps you connected, informed, and empowered—with opportunities to participate as much as you choose.
